Yard Work

It must be getting close to summer because I had to mow some of our grass (oh wait...I mean WEEDS) for the first time this season. Every time I mow our yard (4 + acres) I have lots of friendly people that drive by on a busy highway and give friendly waves, smiles, and honks!
I often wonder what they're thinking as they pass by me.........'Poor thing...she's got a LOT more to mow. She'll be there FOREVER'....or 'Glad it's her and not me'......or 'Why is her husband never the one mowing?".....or maybe they don't wonder anything.

Frankly, I do enjoy mowing our beautiful, tall, green weeds. It does take a while to mow, but I get lots of problems worked out while I'm mowing! I have learned that I can get a lot of praying done while I mow! I also don't have to listen to the children fussing and fighting while I'm on the lawn mower. In the middle of July I often find that I NEED to be the one to mow our yard b/c after being in the house all day long with children, mowing the lawn is my ESCAPE to peace and quiet!

Add several years to my age, and here's what the future may look like:

Now a different thought....never before had I thought about how much money we spent to fill up the lawn mower and shredder with gas! If the price of gas doesn't decline, I'll have to give up shopping at KOHLS! I'm not sure if I can make that sacrifice!!! I guess we'll have to invest in some goats! I wonder if the new lawn mowers have the fancy FLEXFUEL decal on the back?

Can I come mow? PLEASE!!!??? :-)

The only time I've driven by and saw mowing, it was the hubby!

One of these days the Little Man will be doing it! But I'm sure he won't be drinking chocolate milk when he's done. He will certainly want kool-aid!
