Running the Race

"Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize." -1 Corinthians 9:24

This past week had the the opportunity to watch my LITTLE brother run at two track meets. I was so PROUD of him! He ran his heart out at both meets! Not only was I proud of his efforts, but I was amazed at his level of sportsmanship after each race. After winning the 200 meter dash at the district meet, he didn't stand around and BRAG; rather, he immediately went over and congratulated the runners who followed behind him!

Since he wasn't BRAGGING on himself, I guess I felt the need to brag for him!! I did have to tell him after the race that I was so proud that he got his running ability from his oldest sister! LOL!

Very funny! You have really set a great example for him...disciplined athlete that you are! Isn't your picture all through the main hall of MHS as a great all-around athlete? :-)

As a mom of boys, I pray they will be that kind of teenager - showing good sportsmanship, respecting others, especially adults.

He's a great kid!
