A CRAPPY WEEKEND.....LITERALLY

As I pulled into our driveway Friday after work I noticed that I had some new yard decor. Now, I'm not by any means trying to get the yard of the year award or anything, but if there was such an award, this would definitely have to win it!

In case there are 'city-folk' readers on my blog that just don't "GET-IT"....that is a picture of a brand spankin' new SEPTIC TANK. (Price tag of about $4500 by the time we pay someone to install it correctly, etc....uh yea, that's FOUR THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED BUCKS...not FORTY FIVE DOLLARS.....that's a bunch of STINKING money just to hold and drain our STINKIN waste water.....(Note to self: don't even think about how much that would buy at KOHL'S!)

Upon seeing this in my yard, this should have been my first sign that it might be a CRAPPY weekend!

Friday evening my husband calls and says that he's going to go and spray a field. So, I say the usual, "K, be careful love ya." 20 minutes later I'm on my cell phone with my sister and my house phone starts ringing and I notice that it's my husband's number on the caller ID. So, I hang up with sister to answer husband's call. Since it had only been 20 minutes or so since he previously called, I was thinking that the wind must have gotten up and he had changed his mind, etc. WRONG....He then explains to me that he had hit some wires. WHAT DID YOU SAY?????? WIRES???????????? Believe it or not, I wasn't screaming like it appears in my size of font from above. I really took it calmly...and still have for the most part. Because after all, God did protect him, and got him safely back to the airport and was able to make a safe landing.... and I still have my husband and our kids still have their daddy. So, why be mad/upset/etc. I'm pretty sure I should just be thankful that it ended up this way instead of any other way. So....this was the first CRAPPY event of the weekend! (Well, actually 2nd event, b/c entering my driveway Friday afternoon and seeing the SEPTIC tank sitting in my yard was probably event #1!)

Later Friday evening after husband gets home, settles down from an unexpected flying event, etc. he explains that the man came earlier on Friday to start installing our new Septic tank and lateral lines and he discovered an underground HIGH VOLTAGE wire. LOVELY.....we could have a massive explosion on our property if that were to ever interfere with our lovely new septic tank!! So we have to wait for the electrical company to come out and figure out where this high voltage line is going, etc. JUST LOVELY....THE YARD DECOR WILL CONTINUE TO ENTERTAIN MANY PEOPLE AS THEY DRIVE BY OUR HOUSE. CRAPPY EVENT #3 is being told that we're just not sure how long this septic tank will be sitting on the yard!

Since my husband's airplane is having to undergo some required maintenance now b/c of CRAPPY event on Friday afternoon, he calls his pilot friend from Kansas to come down and help out. So, friend comes down and sprays for us. Pilot has to quit early Sat. evening b/c he's not feeling good. Husband brings pilot friend to our house to stay b/c our local motel is temporarily CLOSED. So, I fix supper for all of us and pilot friend immediately heads to our guest room (which is also Eryn's room...so this means that Eryn will now be sleeping in MY bed). Pilot friend is still feeling bad Sunday evening...and he's still in our guest room....this is how bad he feels.....he calls on his cell phone to my husband's cell phone and asks where the nearest ER or Dr can be found. He couldn't even get up and walk 2 steps from his room to our living room to talk to us...he had to call us on his cell phone!!!!! So, husband takes sick friend to local ER. They check him out, draw blood, give shot and say that he has the FLU. THIS IS A VERY CRAPPY EVENT folks b/c half of our household had the flu a month or so ago and I DO NOT....i repeat....I DO NOT want any of us to get it again!!!!!!!!!!!

So I think as a precaution, I'm going to go and gather up my kiddos and we're going to go and live in our brand, spankin' new septic tank for the next few days until the FLU germ is completely away!

So if I don't show up for work in the morning, don't come to my house and ring the door bell......just lift the lid and walk on in to our temporary home-away-from- home.

Ok, on a serious note:

It really wasn't that bad of a weekend. Yes, it was kind of frightening that my husband hit wires. But, I am so thankful that God is always in control of our life. I know it could have been worse, but every day I pray that God is always in control when my husband flies. I pray each day for God to be the pilot and my husband be co-pilot . I know for a fact that God was the pilot on Friday evening! God is so good!

Please pray that our friend gets over the flu quickly. Also pray that the flu germ doesn't spread to our family. We've had our share of this already this year, and we just really don't need to go down that road again!

Wow. That is scary. I don't know how you can handle having a husband who is a pilot. I'd be a nervous wreck! Sorry your weekend was full of crapola.
